Overnight oats are a quick and delicious way to make sure you hit the ground running in the morning. With no actual cook time and very little prep, this is a meal you can make last minute late at night and still get to bed at a reasonable hour. Truly, the biggest decision you will have to make is whether you want to heat them up in the morning or eat them cold.
Follow below for an easy recipe that we love!
Oats—use old-fashioned rolled oats and avoid the instant ones.
Add-ins such as Greek yogurt, almond butter, peanut butter, berries, seeds, etc.
Place your oats in a container that can hold liquid and potentially withstand heat if you so choose.
Add in your milk of choice. Dairy, almond, soy, coconut etc. milk all work fine, just avoid water because you will want some added flavor.
Mix in your sweetener of choice. Honey, maple sugar, brown sugar and coconut sugar are all great choices that can zest up your oats to your taste. Not feeling the sweet? Go ahead and skip this step.
We highly recommend you don’t skip on the vanilla extract. Just a tiny splash punches up the flavor in a big way.
Finally, add in your extras for extra flavor and added nutrition. Depending on what you are adding, you can do this step in the morning just before you walk out the door to keep it fresh.
Enjoy the tasty flavor, good nutrition and ease with which you will now start your days.
